I photograph the places where one thing becomes another.
Ilse Maren works in bodies of work rather than single pictures: water, concrete, the city after midnight, the desert. Each made slowly, on foot, in available light, usually in a single frame.
Based in Lisbon; prints held in private collections in London, Berlin and New York.
